BioPOA Co., Ltd. Announced that signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Development of Platform Vaccines against Poultry Diseases’ with Harim Co., Ltd. At Harim’s headquarters on the 2nd. The signing ceremony was attended by Cho Sun-hee, CEO of BioPOA, Jeong Ho-seok, CEO of Harim, and Kim Dal-jung, CEO of Korea Thumbvet, among others.
Under the agreement, both companies plan to establish a mutual cooperation framework and enhance the disease prevention capabilities against domestic poultry diseases, leveraging each party’s expertise and infrastructure.
Both companies will jointly develop and evaluate vaccines targeting major poultry diseases, including AI (Avian Influenza), IB (Infectious Bronchitis), ND (Newcastle Disease), and IBD (Infectious Bursal Disease). Beginning with field clinical trial of an ND-IB combined vaccine this year, the collaboration will be progressively expanded to encompass a trivalent ND·IB·AI combined vaccine.
Furthermore, the two parties plan to exchange academic information and samples related to recently emerging poultry disease, provide technical support for the testing and evaluation of vaccine-related diseases, and facilitate mutual exchange of researchers, research facilities, and equipment.
At the signing ceremony, Jeong Ho-seok, CEO of Harim, stated, “The convergence of Harim’s world-class live stock farming infrastructure and BioPOA’s advanced platform technology goes beyond mere corporate collaboration – it will serve as a landmark that opens a new horizon for livestock disease prevention and food safety in the Republic of Korea.”
Cho sun-hee, CEO of BioPOA, stated, “No matter how advanced vaccine technology may be, it cannot fully define its value if it fails to respond swiftly and accurately to the diverse conditions of actual farms and the ever-evolving field viruses. We will integrate the highest level of expertise from both sides to establish a virtuous cycle structure for the development of field-adaptive vaccines.”
